„easy rider“ thomas (terence hill) sucht als aussteiger die einsamkeit der wüste. auf dem weg dorthin rettet er eher zufällig die junge lucia (veronica bitto) aus den fängen zweier verbrecher. sie folgt ihm anschließend wie eine klette, um nicht allein in der wüste zurückzubleiben. seinen wunsch nach innerer einkehr macht sie damit aber zunichte. das ungleiche duo gerät durch lucias temperament immer wieder in schwierigkeiten, welche die beiden auf ihre weise überwinden. so findet thomas durch seine neue begleiterin, für die er im laufe der zeit väterliche gefühle entwickelt, zwar keine einsamkeit, aber doch nachhaltige inspiration für sein leben.
terence hill inszenierte diesen roadmovie als regisseur, autor und hauptdarsteller. 10 jahre arbeitete er an diesem herzensprojekt“ und widmet diesen film seinem langjährigen partner und freund bud spencer.
