christian vogel ist 34 jahre alt, als er sich seinen herzenswunsch erfüllt: einmal die erde auf dem motorrad umrunden.er kündigt die wohnung und hängt seinen job als fernsehjournalist an den nagel. gerade erst frisch verliebt, fällt der abschied dann besonders schwer. wie lange er seine freundin und seine familie nicht sehen wird, ist ungewiss. am 19. mai 2015 beginnt der aufbruch ins unbekannte. vor ihm liegt eine route, die unter anderem durch die usa, kanada und russland führt. auch china, die mongolei, pakistan, indien und der iran werden von ihm durchquert.
die reise birgt nicht nur spektakuläre momente und unvergessliche erlebnisse, sondern auch immense gefahren. immer wieder sind es hilfsbereite menschen, die christian vogel in vermeintlich ausweglosen situationen zur seite stehen und ihn seinem ziel näherbringen. ein schwerer unfall in indien stellt ihn schließlich vor die vielleicht größte herausforderung seines lebens.
nun erzählt er die bewegende geschichte von seiner reise um diese erde und irgendwie auch davon, worum es im leben doch eigentlich geht.
