was wäre selbst der kürzeste monat ohne einen club pompadour? auch im februar treiben es die herrschaften von cmyk wieder kunterbunt, diesmal mit einem besonderen gast aus übersee: niemand geringerer als simon baker aus großbritannien wird am 8. februar im camera club für stimmung sorgen.
simon baker's job ist es, platten aufzulegen. und diesen job macht er nicht nur verdammt gut, sondern auch schon verdammt lange: bereits seit 15 jahren macht er die clubs der welt unsicher.
wer sich nun fragt welche musik dieser mann denn so spielt, der wird keine besonders zufriedenstellende antwort erhalten: "if it's good, play it!", so baker's motto. dass dieser zugang gut funktioniert stellte sich
nicht nur in zuge seiner residencies in den clubs asylum und technique in leeds und the key in london heraus. zuletzt sorgte simon baker als tour-support-dj von steve lawler für aufsehen.
einen ersten eindruck von baker's stil lassen zumindest seine zahlreichen produktionen zu. nicht nur dass namhafte labels wie playhouse, 20:20 vision und connaisseur überzeugt genug waren, ihn in
ihr roster aufzunehmen, seine eps "the fly", "plastik" und "confused" wurden von dj größen wie steve bug, monika kruse, tiefschwarz und steve lawler an den höchsten stellen ihrer dj-charts gelistet.
zumindest musikalisch braucht sich auch der support an simon baker's seite nicht zu verstecken. gewohnte qualität gibt es wie gehabt von den cmyk-residents philipp blecha und thomas grün, erstmals wagt sich auch
das y in cmyk, mr. yellow, an die decks. max lindner und der lauscher runden das line-up ab und garantieren somit einen weiteren unvergesslichen abend.
und das schönste daran ist und bleibt, dass der februar trotz schaltjahr nur 29 tage hat und es damit schon gar nicht mehr lang bis zum nächsten club pompadour ist! |
